Sons Mark & Henry, Father Jim and daughter Ciara Cummins are named ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family 2016.’

Meet the ‘Cummins family’  from Rahealty, Thurles, Co.Tipperary, who have been crowned ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family 2016’; following last night’s performance of various tests of endurance featured on RTE1, latter aimed at identifying Ireland’s toughest and strongest family foursome.

The family led by their dad Jim, sons Mark (rugby player and lifeguard), Henry (involved in equestrian pursuits), and their daughter Ciara (an All Ireland winning athlete), won the final, beating strong contenders the ‘Ryan family’ from Co. Donegal, and the ‘McCarthy family’ from Co. Clare, in a close knit series of robust fitness challenges.

Recorded over some 8 weeks during last summer, the Cummins family sprinted, climbed, hung, crawled and dragged their way through a myriad of obstacle courses to take home the first prize of €15,000 and the title ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family 2016’.

Congratulations to all involved.
