Funeral Arrangements.
In accordance with government guidelines with regard to the current Covid-19 pandemic and public gatherings; a private family funeral Mass for Mr Carroll, will take place on Sunday morning, in St. Mary’s Church Killenaule, Thurles at 11:00am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in Crosscannon Cemetery.

Today, Minister for Health Mr Simon Harris has announced that, as and from next week, it will be mandatory for anyone who arrives to this country through airports and ports to self-isolate for 14 days.
From next week also, persons arriving here in Ireland will have to fill out a mandatory ‘Passenger Location Form’, and could face follow-up checks to ensure that people are staying at the addresses where they stated that they would be self-isolating.
It was further confirmed that no non-essential travel outside of Ireland would be permitted, for at least the immediate future.
These new regulations are set to come into effect from Thursday May 28th next and will not include aircraft crew, diplomats and international transport workers, but will provide for fines of up to €2,500 or up to six month’s imprisonment for any of the following: –
(A) Failure to complete and give the form to a relevant person. (B) Providing information that is known to be false or misleading (whether on the form, when presenting the form, or in subsequent follow-up checks) (C) Failure to provide further information to a relevant person upon request (who suspects that the form has not been completed properly) (D) Failure to update residence or contact details if they change within 14 days of arrival into the State.
Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 virus cases that have been confirmed here in Co. Tipperary; as of midnight on Wednesday, May 20th last, remains at 529, with an increase of 0 recorded new case, within a 24-hour period.
The Department of Health has confirmed, this evening, that a further 11 people have tragically died from the virus, here in the Republic of Ireland over the past 24 hours. These latest figures place the total number of deaths since this pandemic began, to 1,592.
This evening, it has also been confirmed that an additional 115 new cases of coronavirus have been identified, bringing the total since conception to 24,506.
The number of virus cases confirmed here in the Premier County still remains recorded (as at midnight on Friday, May 1st last), at 478.
The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 16 people have tragically died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland. These latest figures bring the death toll, from this pandemic, to 1,319.
A total of 266 new cases of the coronavirus have also today, been identified here in the Republic, bringing the total since conception to 21,772.
Meanwhile, Minister for Health Mr Simon Harris has stated that from today, the Health Service Executive has the ability to carry out 12,000 tests per day, in their efforts to battle against the Covid-19 virus pandemic, but insists the overall future situation remains “fragile”, with the next two weeks mattering a great deal with regards the HSE’s ongoing efforts.
A book titled “Champagne Football: The Rise and Fall of John Delaney and the Football Association of Ireland” is ready for publication in September of this year, by Penguin, latter publishers of bestselling nonfiction.
Sunday Times newspaper journalists Mr Paul Rowan and Mr Mark Tighe have written the book after their previous 2019 journalistic revelations greatly influenced events, which in turn would eventually call a hault to Mr Delaney’s time at the summit of Irish football.
Readers will remember that in March 2019, both journalists tangled with the FAI; overcoming a court injunction, latter which attempted to halt the publishing of a story relating to Mr Delaney’s payment of €100,000 to a cash strapped FAI organisation.
In the book, latter promised to be released on 17th September 2020, Mr Tighe and Mr Rowan dig deeply into the story of Mr Delaney’s 15-year career resulting in the FAI’s descent into total ruin. They show how he surrounded himself with people whose personal loyalty could be counted on and a FAI board that failed to notice that the association’s finances were totally shot.
Mr Tighe was acknowledged as the “News Journalist of the Year” for his exploits in 2019, while Mr Rowan is a winner of the NewsBrands “Campaigning Journalism” and “Investigative Journalism” accolades.
The Department of Health has confirmed this evening that a further 28 people have tragically died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland.
The total death toll has now reached 1,014. This number includes a further 185 probable deaths, while 2 deaths, that had previously been reported, are now no longer classified as related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 577 new cases of the coronavirus have also today been identified here in the Republic, thus bringing the total since conception to 18,184.
Here in Co. Tipperary the number of virus cases reported, as at midnight on April 22nd last, remains confirmed at 343, a worrying increase of 16 new confirmed cases.
