It was with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 11th September 2021, of Mr Robert Doyle, Tobberardora, Boherlahan, Cashel Co. Tipperary, and formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by his wife Cynthia, Mr Doyle passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff of Ardeen Nursing Home, Abbey Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his sons Gerard, Robert, Martin and Patrick, daughters Louise, Catherine and Caroline, sisters Margaret (Brolan) and Hanna (O’Toole), grandchildren, son-in-law William (Lowry), daughter-in-law Jane, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Doyle will repose in Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Monday evening, September 13th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
His body will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Tuesday morning, September 14th, at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am.
Interment will take place immediately after Mass, in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Doyle, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.

Pre-deceased by his wife Brigid and his sisters Maureen and Noreen; Mr Maher passed away peacefully at his home in Boulea, surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his immediate family; Angela, Pat, Tomas, John and Paul, his son-in-law Jim, daughters-in-law Fiona, Catherine, Teresa and Catherine, his adored grandchildren Aoife, Sean, Caroline, Michelle, Emily, Aisling, Aine, Jack and James, his sisters Christina, Alice and Teresa, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

On Friday morning, September 10th, his body will be received into the Church of the Assumption, Ballingarry (SR), Thurles, from his home in Boulea, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,414 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, here in the Republic of Ireland.
There are 353 people reported in our hospital who have tested positive for the disease, a rise of 10 in number since yesterday. Of these, 55 are being treated in intensive care units.
While Ireland recorded the highest 14-day incidence of Covid-19 in Europe last week, [according to data released by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)], some 89% of adults aged 18 years and older are now fully vaccinated; while those aged 12 years and older, 82% are fully vaccinated.
Here within the Irish Republic, up to yesterday, September 2nd, 2021, there have been 3,698,849 first dose vaccines administered; 3,172,584 second dose vaccines administered, making a total in all of 6,871,433 persons vaccinated, a truly remarkable vaccination figure.
In Northern Ireland, there have been 1,248 new cases of the virus reported in the past 24 hours.
There were 409 Covid-positive people admitted to their hospitals this morning, 46 of whom are in intensive care units. There are also, sadly, 9 deaths also reported within the same period, all virus related.
Here at home in Co. Tipperary local electoral areas (LEA) data showing 14 day virus data, (between August 17th 2021 and August 30th 2021), indicate that Clonmel in the south of the county has had the highest Covid-19 infection rate in Ireland, outside of Ulster, with 348 new cases
Over the same 14 day period Thurles has experienced 142 new cases; Newport 81; Nenagh 90; Cashel-Tipperary 97; Cahir 48; Roscrea-Templemore 48 and Carrick-on-Suir 49.

Sadly, a man in his 40s has lost his life following a road traffic accident near Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary.
The single-vehicle crash happened on the Faugheen Road at Mainstown in Carrick-on-Suir, Co, Tipperary, yesterday evening.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the car, received fatal injuries in the crash. His body has been taken to the mortuary at South Tipperary General Hospital, where a post-mortem is expected to be carried out.
The road at Mainstown, from Faugheen towards Carrick on Suir, is currently closed pending a forensic examination by Garda Investigators, with local diversions remaining currently in place.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who were travelling between Faugheen and Carrick on Suir between 9:00pm and 9:30pm on yesterday evening, and who may have dash cam footage to please make same available.
