It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, today Saturday 25th September 2021, of Mr John Russell, Tinvoer, Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by his wife Anne, sons Damien and Oliver and brother Lar; Mr Russell passed away peacefully at his place of residence surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted by his daughters Noeleen, Ann Marie, Sarah, Mary, Laura and Emily, sons Nicolas and John Paul (New Zealand), sisters Ann and Joan, brother Pat, sons-in-law Paul, Donacha, Gordon and John, Nicholas’s partner Anne, John Paul’s partner Nicola, 26 grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
Mr Russell will be received into the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady Loughmore, Templemore on Monday morning, at 11.30am, to repose for Requiem Mass; followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Russell, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.

The Thurles.Info ‘eye in the sky’ reported early this afternoon that the glass cover of a street light is dangling dangerously overhead, close to Town House Deli, on Slievenamon Road, Thurles. Co. Tipperary.
The matter was reported to Thurles Gardaí, at approximately 2:30pm, who in turn notified the Thurles Municipal Council offices via Nenagh. However, to date the matter has not been rectified.
This street light cover is presently swinging in the wind and could break from its moorings.
Please do take care and if you are residing in that area, please move parked cars from the immediate vicinity.
It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, yesterday Sunday 19th September 2021, of Mr Adrian Maguire, Tullequane, Ballynonty, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr Maguire passed away unexpectedly at his place of residence.
Pre-deceased by his grandparents Edward and Mary Maguire and Anthony Lanphier; his passing is most deeply regretted by his heartbroken family; his mother Angela, father Paddy, sister Charlotte and her partner Christopher, grandmother Phil (Lanphier), uncles, aunts, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The earthly remains of Mr Maguire will repose at his residence, E41 K0W7, in Ballynonty on Thursday afternoon, September 23rd, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. His body will be received into the Church of St. Kevin, Littleton, Thurles on Friday morning, September 24th, at 11:00am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am. Interment will follow immediately afterwards in St. Peter’s cemetery, Moycarkey, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, today Friday 17th September 2021, of Mr Edward (Ned) Corbett, Prussia Street, Dublin 7, Co. Dublin and late of Clonsilla, Dublin 15, Co. Dublin and formerly of Borrisoleigh, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Mr Corbett passed away peacefully, while in the care of staff at the Mater Hospital, Eccles St, Dublin 7 . Edward (Ned), beloved father of Eamonn, Clair, Vinny, Mairead and the late Stephen. Sadly missed by his loving children and their mother Phyllis, grandchildren Ned and Jack, son-in-law Billy, daughter-in-law Landie, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

The Department of Health has confirmed 1,185 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours here in the Irish Republic.
Currently there are 292 people in hospital having tested positive for the disease and of these, 65 are being treated in intensive care units, latter a rise of 5 over yesterdays reported figures.
Sadly, there has been a total of 5,179 deaths, to date, now notified in Ireland related to Covid-19. This figure includes 24 deaths newly notified in the past 7 days.
Meanwhile, Ireland is on track to proceed with the full lifting of Covid-19 restrictions next month, October 22nd, our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has informed an Oireachtas Joint Committee on Health.
In Northern Ireland, a further 1,304 cases of coronavirus were reported today.
There are 426 patients with Covid-19 in northern hospitals, with 36 patients in hospital intensive care units. Sadly, also 10 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported today. Same also comes with the news that in Northern Ireland during the summer months of 2021; the death rate there was five times that of the Irish Republic.
Meanwhile abroad, the European Union’s chief executive Ursula von der Leyen has stated in her annual policy speech that the pace of vaccination against Covid-19 must be quickened across the globe to avert “a pandemic of the non-vaccinated”.
Vaccination continues to offer the best protection against the most severe effects of COVID-19, including hospitalisation and death.
