Death Of Noreen Lanigan, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday, of Mrs Noreen Lanigan (née Baggot), Garrynamona, Ballycahill, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Predeceased by her husband Billy and sons Seamus and Liam; Mrs Lanigan passed away on Thursday 4th November 2021.

Her passing is most sadly regretted by her daughters Margaret, Patricia and Geraldine, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sons-in-law, extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mrs Lanigan will repose at her home on Saturday evening, November 6th, from 5:30pm with removal to St. Cataldus Church, Ballycahill, Thurles, at 7.30pm.
Her body will further repose for Requiem Mass on Sunday afternoon, November 7th, at 1.30pm, followed by interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bouladuff, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Death Of John Gormley, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Sunday 10th October 2021, of Mr John Gormley, Annfield, Bouladuff, Thurles, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford.

In his 88th year and pre-deceased by his son-in-law Kieran, brothers Mick, Jim, Pat, Eugene, Peadar, Tom and Mel, sisters Anna and Maggie-May; Mr Gormley passed away peacefully, while under the care of staff at South Tipperary University Hospital.

His passing is most deeply regretted by his loving family; wife Kathleen (née O’Connell, Kilcommon), sons Patrick, Denis and John, daughter Caroline (Connors), grandchildren Laura, Fiona, David, Megan, Conor, Liam, Paul, Emma and Michael, great-grandson Arlo, daughters-in-law Mary, Siobhan and Mary, brothers Colm, Bredan and Fr. Kevin, sister Chris (Hourican), nephews, nieces, brothers in law, sister in law, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

The earthly remains of Mr Gormley will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, on Tuesday evening, October 12th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
His body will be received into the Church of St. Laurence O’Toole, Inch, Thurles on Wednesday morning, 13th October, at 11:00am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:30am.
Internment will take place immediately afterwards in Bouladuff Cemetery, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Mr Gormley, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.

Walk-In Vaccination Clinic At Nenagh, Tipperary This Weekend

Sunday October 10th – Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh – Pfizer Dose 1 & 2 – Time 1:30pm-6:00pm.

Those attending for second doses should bring their vaccine record card with them. Please note that a minimum of 21 days must have passed after Pfizer Dose 1, before Dose 2 can be administered.
[This should be observed also for people who have received AstraZeneca Dose 1 and who are presenting for Pfizer Dose 2.]

No appointment is necessary for these clinics, and there is no requirement to register on the national vaccine registration portal. However, please note that children under 16 years must be accompanied to centres by a parent or guardian.

For identification, anyone attending should bring their birth certificate, or a photo ID (i.e., driving licence, Public Services Card, travel pass, passport, Garda-issued National Age Card, or school or college ID).

Outside of this walk-in clinic, parents or guardians of children aged 12 to 15 may continue to register any child on the HSE website via the link HERE.

Death Of Sr. Breeda Noonan, Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death, on Tuesday 21st September 2021, of Sr. Breeda Noonan, Presentation Convent, Matlock, Derbyshire, England and late of Ballingarry, Co. Limerick and Presentation Convent, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Sr. Breeda passed away peacefully while in care of the staff at Ince Blundell Hall Nursing Home, Liverpool, U.K..

Pre-deceased by her parents, Catherine and Thomas, her brother Michael, nephew David and brothers-in-law John and Tommy; her passing is most deeply regretted by the members of her Religious Community, loving sisters Anne (Carroll), Margaret (Ryan) and Kathleen (Dundon), sister-in-law Sheila, brother-in-law Willie, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Covid-19 Numbers Confirmed At 1,943 On Irish Mainland Today.

The Department of health has confirmed 1,051 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours here in the Republic of Ireland.

There are 319 people with Covid-19 being treated in hospitals around the country up 21 from yesterday; of whom 60 of these patients are being treated in our intensive care units; an increase of 4 on yesterdays reported figures.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, a further 892 cases of the virus have been confirmed by their Department of Health in the last 24 hours.
Sadly, 2 more coronavirus related patients have died.

Coronavirus figures confirmed north and south on the Irish mainland, over the past 24 hours, total 1,943.
