Here in the Republic of Ireland the Department of Health has confirmed 4,195 new cases of Covid-19 within the past 24 hours. Same figure, includes 1,936 PCR-confirmed cases and 2,259 positive antigen tests registered through the HSE portal.
As of this morning, there were 904 patients with the virus in our Republic’s hospitals, a reduction of 29 on yesterday’s reported figure.
There remain 57 Covid-19 patients in intensive care units, down 1 person on yesterday’s figures.
Sadly, 13 new deaths were recorded today, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths, in the Republic of Ireland since the start of the pandemic, to 6,932, as of today.
In Northern Ireland, a further 791 cases of coronavirus were reported today, up from 770 on yesterday’s figure.
Today, 460 people with Covid-19 were in hospital in Northern Ireland, down 6 patients on yesterday, with 4 people in Northern Ireland’s intensive care units.
Five new Covid-19-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland today, bringing the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, sadly to 3,377.
