The GAA’s Annual Gaelic Handball Congress will take place this Sunday, March 28th, at the Anner Hotel, Thurles, Tipperary, commencing with a special Mass at 10.00 a.m., officiated over by His Grace Dr. Dermot Clifford, Patron of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
A significant boost to the local economy is expected with Delegates arriving from all the four provinces to Thurles on Saturday evening next.
This is a significant year at Handball Congress, with motions to be voted on regarding Rules and Bye Laws and also a decision to elect the new incoming Uachtarán for 2011.
Delegates will break for Lunch at 1.00 pm in the Anner Hotel and there will tea/coffee on arrival before the Congress gets underway at 11.00 a.m.
Delegates will be officially welcomed to the congress by the Chairperson of the Tipperary Handball Board, Mr Pat McKenna, and the President of the National Handball Association, Roscommon’s Mr Tony Hannon who will also chair the days agenda.
