Thurles Municipal District Councillors & Officials Continue To Ignore Thurles.

This morning, at 10:20am precisely, two men driving a lorry, arrived into Kickham Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Same men, wearing yellow, reflective, safety jackets removed a €850 ‘Consaw’ from their lorry.
[Latter ‘Consaw’ is a power tool used for cutting, in this case asphalt, but also concrete, masonry, brick, tile, and other solid materials.]

One of the men cut a 5cm (2in) wide, by 88cm (35in) in length, track/course/way, between road and kerb, at close to one of the surface depressions, authorised some years ago, by Tipperary Co. Council, at the request of state-owned company Irish Water.

An engineer we consulted with today on behalf of our solicitor, believes it was their intention to solve the flooding on Kickham Street, now damaging homes in the area, by cutting this track in order get the static water to flow eastward down the street, into the path of our neighbouring terraced houses.

Unfortunately, none of these workers appear to have brought a spirit level, resulting in the cutting being made on an area 6cm higher above the actual water pooling depression.
[A spirit level, bubble level, or simply a level, for those not familiar with this instrument, is designed to indicate whether a surface is horizontal (level) or vertical (plumb).]

The work undertaken today, aptly demonstrates the idiom,“a fool’s errand” or a task that has little to no chance of being successful or beneficial.

Same, once again further proves (if proof was needed) that Tipperary Co. Council, their officials and staff are hell bent on continuing to waste taxpayers money through their incompetence.

But sure, as Torquay builder Mr O’Reilly (Actor David Kelly) once said to Mr Basil Fawlty (Actor John Cleese) in Faulty Towers, “The good Lord made the world so that we can all enjoy ourselves”
