Death Of Fr. John Butler S.D.B. Formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary

It is with great sadness and regret that we learned of the death today, Friday 1st October 2021, of Fr. John E (Jack) Butler S.D.B., Pallaskenry, Limerick; formerly Croke Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary; Maynooth, Co. Kildare and South Africa.

In his 94th year, Fr. John passed away while in the care of staff at Fenor Hill Care Facility, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny.

His passing is most deeply regretted by the Provincial & Confréres of the Salesian Order, at Pallaskenry and Maynooth.
A brother of the late Queenie, Martin T, Thomas, Joe, Patricia (Moloney), David, Gus, Jim, Frank, Maeve, Nancy and Billy; he will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Noreen, his many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.

Reposing at the residence of his niece Mary, at “Slieve Bloom”, Kavanagh Place, Thurles, on tomorrow evening, Saturday, October 2nd, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
The earthly remains of Fr. John will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Sunday afternoon, October 3rd, at 12:30pm, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 1:00pm.
Interment will take place immediately afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles.

For the many persons who would have liked to have attended the funeral service for Fr. John, but are unable to do so, due to current virus restrictions; same can be viewed online HERE.
