The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have sadly been 6 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,200.
There are 1,296 new additional virus cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 85,394.
There were 260 people with Covid-19 in hospitals in the Republic as of 8pm last night, up four on the previous evening, with 25 Covid-19 of these located in intensive care, 13 of whom were on ventilators.
Meanwhile in Northern Ireland, a further 20 deaths have been reported by their Department of Health, taking their death toll to 1,271. A further of 998 new cases have been confirmed in the past 48 hours.
Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at almost 80 million. with global deaths at well over 1.75 million.
