Covid-19 Update: Mon. 23rd Nov. 2020 – Zero Deaths – 252 New Cases

8 further killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been zero death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 2,022. (One already confirmed case de-notified)

There are 252 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 70,711.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 8 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,440 cases to date, per RTE summary); 88 in Dublin; 26 in Cork; 21 in Kilkenny; 16 in Louth; 16 in Mayo, with the remaining 77 located across 19 other counties.

This evening there are 289 patients with coronavirus in Irish hospitals with 33 people in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other Covid-19 News
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan has stated the current incidence rate is now 107 per 100,000 of the population.

British drugs group AstraZeneca together with the University of Oxford have stated that their jointly-developed vaccine developed to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, has shown an average efficacy of 70% in trials.

Total global cases up to 5.30pm this evening, now stand at almost 59 million with global deaths at well over 1.39 million.
