Covid-19 Update: Mon. 9th Nov. 2020 – 1 Death – 270 New Cases

16 new killer Covid-19 virus cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary

The Department of Health have confirmed this evening that there have been sadly 1 further death caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,948.

There are 270 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 65,659.

Of this evening’s confirmed cases; 16 are located in Co. Tipperary (Total 1,293 cases to date, per RTE summary); 103 in Dublin, 34 in Limerick, 20 in Donegal, 12 in Cork, 9 each in Kerry and Kilkenny with the remaining 67 cases located across 19 other counties.

Currently, there are 291 confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded nationally in our Irish State hospitals, with 39 of these patients in intensive care units, (ICU’s).

Other COVID-19 News:
There are 471 new virus cases in Northern Ireland over the last 24 hours, with sadly a further 10 deaths. Their death toll now stands at 791.

Up to 8pm on Sunday last November 8th there were 36 patients confirmed with COVID-19 in Hospitals serving Co. Tipperary; 2 in South Tipperary General, Clonmel and 34 in University Hospital Limerick.

Testing on mink farms, located in Cork, Donegal and Laois are under way as part of enhanced surveillance implemented by the Department of Agriculture. This follows in the wake of a variant of Covid-19 virus being discovered on mink farms in other countries, including Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the USA, which we discussed in recent days.

Total global cases this evening, now stand at over 50.5 million [Global Cases – 50,591,307 ] with global deaths at well over 1.25 million [Global Deaths – 1,258,321].
