A thorough investigation is under way in Co Tipperary after the body of a man was discovered at the scene of a house fire.
Gardaí were alerted around 5:00am this morning and responded to reports of a house fire in the St. Michael’s Avenue area of Tipperary town.
Fire crews quickly fought the blaze bringing it under control, however sadly the body of a man, understood to be aged in his 30s, was discovered inside the building.
The body remains at the scene of the blaze, while a technical examination take place.
Gardaí, today, are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anything unusual at the time of the fire, to contact them at Tipperary Town Garda Station on Tel: 062-80670.
Second Tipperary Fire Over Halloween Festival Weekend
Gardaí are treating as an incident of criminal damage, a non related fire at a hay barn in the Ardfinnan area of Co. Tipperary, that also occurred over the weekend.
The fire is understood to have occurred at around 7:00pm on Sunday, October 25th near Clonmel in the south of the county. This area was also preserved for a technical examination after the fire was successfully extinguished.
