Currently there remain 17 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Irish Republic’s hospitals; an increase of 1 from yesterday, with 6 of these patients confined to intensive care units and 90 patients in hospital wards with the suspected Covid-19 virus.
Covid-19 restrictions have been further extended in County Kildare for yet another two weeks. Restrictions in Laois and Offaly however have been lifted with immediate effect.
This evening, figures from the Department of Health confirm that there has been zero new deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll here in the Republic of Ireland remaining at 1,776.
However, there are 79 new additional cases reported today, leaving the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception in the Irish Republic, at 27,775.
There are now 2,577 confirmed clusters nationally.
A breakdown of these new cases indicate that six are in Co. Tipperary, with 43 in Dublin, 9 in Kildare and 6 in Cork. The remaining 15 confirmed cases are located in Clare, Donegal, Laois, Limerick, Louth, Mayo, Roscommon, Wexford and Wicklow.
