Cystic fibrosis sufferers (CF) here in Tipperary and indeed across the Republic of Ireland, from today can obtain a grant of 100 euros per applicant, to purchase necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
While sufferers of Cystic fibrosis are well used to observing regular and proper hand-washing, cough etiquette and social distancing, research has highlighted the need for PPE as a particular issue for those effected.
As most of our readers are aware; Cystic fibrosis is a hereditary disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, resulting in the body producing a thick, sticky mucus which can clog the lungs and obstruct the pancreas. Cystic fibrosis (CF) can be life-threatening, and people with the condition tend to have a shorter-than-normal life span.
People with cystic fibrosis, (or in the case of minors,) their guardians can now apply online today for this PPE grant HERE.
