A male, understood to be aged in his 40s, was arrested yesterday; and has appeared court this morning, charged with a drugs offence.
The arrest and charge followed the seizure of €13,500 worth of suspected cannabis herb, here in North Co. Tipperary.
Just before 9:00pm last evening, Gardaí from Newport Garda Station, latter on Covid-19 patrol in the Shanbally area of Birdhill, spotted a lone parked car in a car park.
Following discussions with the driver; Gardaí carried out a search of the vehicle and located €13,500 of what is understood to be cannabis herb.
This is the third such drug seizure here in the Premier County by Gardaí since last Monday.
