Gardaí have been busy over the past two days continuing to remove the curse of drug addiction from our towns and villages.
Yesterday, May 11th; as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the villages of Mullinahone, Drangan and Ballingarry (South Riding) areas near Thurles, Co. Tipperary; Gardaí from the Clonmel District Drugs Unit have seized some €60,000 of suspected Cocaine (pending further analysis), at, as yet, an undisclosed outdoor location, between the villages of Mullinahone and Ballingarry (SR).
As part of this ungoing investigation a follow-up search was further carried out at a building in Drangan Village this afternoon. During this search Gardaí seized a weighing scales, a vacuum packing machine, bags and other identified drug paraphernalia.
A man, aged in his 50’s, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained for questioning at Clonmel Garda Station.
This follows a Garda raid, also yesterday, on a grow house in North Tipperary which yeilded cannabis valued €50,000.
