The Department of Health has confirmed a further 25 deaths today, April 10th 2020, all relating to the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland. This now brings the total death toll from this virus to 288.
Confirmed also this evening are 480 new cases of cornoavirus having been identified, bringing the total number of cases to 7,054.
There are now 11 new virus cases identified in Co. Tipperary, bringing our total in the Premier County to 151, or 2.1% of all cases identified nationally.
Of the patients pronounced dead, 23 are understood to be located in the East and 2 in the West of this country. These deceased patients included 11 women and 14 men, with 16 reported as having other underlying health conditions.
In more positive news, 62 people, who had previously been admitted to Intensive Care units, have now been discharged. The HSE has also confirmed that it now has the capacity to proceed with testing 4,500 persons for coronavirus, per day.
