It is with sadness that we learned of the death today, Tuesday 7th April 2020, of Mrs Gertie Cooke (née Byrne), Iona Avenue, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Predeceased by her son Bill; Mrs Cooke passed away peacefully following a short illness, while in the care of staff at South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
Her passing is most deeply regretted by her devoted husband Liam; daughters Kayren and Denise; grandchildren Kelvin, Ella, Bill and Liam; great-grandchildren Liam, Conor and Caitlin; son-in-law Seamus; sister-in-law Kathleen; nephews; nieces; extended relatives; neighbours and many friends.
Requiescat in Pace.
Funeral Arrangements
In accordance with current government guidelines, regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and public gatherings; the funeral of Mrs Cooke will take place in a private, family only, setting at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Thursday morning, April 9th, at 11:00am.

It is with great sadness I have just read of Gertie’s death.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. The last time I met Gertie, Liam had her in the doctors surgery.
We had a great chat and she was inquiring about my grandson David Maher and his hurling.
I know Gertie since 1961, she was working in Friar Street (in a dry cleaners). Fabulous lady RIP. Condolence to all the family. especially Liam and Denise
