The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) have seized €22,500 in cash and six vehicles this morning (Thursday February 13th), following searches in Co. Tipperary and Co. Cork.
The searches were carried out at one location in Co. Tipperary and 21 locations in Co. Cork.
We understand the locations searched included six professional premises; some 11 residential homes, four business premises and one hotel room.
During the course of these 22 searches, while two men were arrested; recorded as being seized were €22,500 Euro’s in cash; two Louis Vuitton bags; one Rolex watch; a small quantity of suspected cocaine and cannabis herb; Mobile phones; Financial and Business records. We understand that funds relating to four different financial accounts were restrained.
Also, seized were six motor vehicles listed as; a 191 registered Renault Kadjar; a 182 registered Kia Sportage; a 142 registered Skoda Superb: a 162 registered Hyundai Santa Fe; a 151 registered Volkswagen Passat and a 171 registered Range Rover.
Of the two arrests; one arrest was made on foot of a court bench warrant, while the second man was arrested on foot of an offence which had occurred on previous occasion.
In total some124 personnel took part in today’s operation. Same comprised of the Criminal Assets Bureau; local Gardaí and Detectives; the Garda Emergency Response Unit; the Regional Armed Support Unit and the Garda Dog Unit.
