Revenue officers have seized 19.6 kilograms of “roll-your-own” tobacco in Nenagh, North Co. Tipperary. Same following warranted searches of two targeted premises in the area.
A female aged in her late 40’s and a man aged in his early 20’s have since been interviewed in relation to the seizures.
The tobacco, which bore the brand name ‘Amber Leaf’, held a retail value of approximately €11,500.
Sales of same would have represented a loss to the Irish Exchequer of some €9,600.
Revenue officials confirm that investigations are further ongoing, with a view to possible prosecutions
