A second person has lost their life in a separate road collision over the past 24-hours here in south Co. Tipperary.
A man understood to be also in his 40’s was killed last evening, as he was walking on the M8 motorway, close to junction 11, Cahir South.
The pedestrian was struck by an articulated truck at around 5.00pm, before being pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motorised vehicle was uninjured.
Gardaí are investigating and the southbound carriageway of the M8 motorway remained closed yesterday evening, between junctions 11 and 12, with diversions put into place.
