The wedding took place recently of Karen Cavanagh, daughter of Mrs Ellen and Mr Billy Cavanagh, Cloughjordan, Co.Tipperary, to Michael McLoughney, son of Mrs Eileen and Mr Paddy McLoughney, Borrisokane, Co.Tipperary.
The couple choose the bride’s parish church, St.Kieran’s Church, Cloughjordan, Co.Tipperary, as the venue to publically declare their marriage vows. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Canon Stephen Neill and Fr. Tom Hannon PP in front of a large gathering of friends and relatives, with church music provided by the wonderful Borrisokane Gospel Choir.
Following the ceremony the newlywed couple retired to the popular Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh, Co.Tipperary, joining guests for light refreshments and family photographs.
Later in the evening the new Mr and Mrs McLoughney together with their guests celebrated the event by enjoying a lavish banquet at the hotel, which was followed by music and dancing late into the night.
A video recording of the days events were undertaken by top videographer Pat Corbett
The happy couple are presently enjoying their honeymoon touring in America and from all your relatives and many friends in Tipperary go our good wishes for a long and prosperous life together.
Great picture George – and a most enjoyable day. Thank you as ever for your professionalism.
Hi Canon Stephen,
It was indeed a most enjoyable day and much thanks must go to you and Fr. Tom for combining together to making the ceremony so relaxed and special, not just for Karen and Michael, but also for everyone else, present.
Discovered this blogsite by chance to discover this picture of a distant cousins marriage! I am the grandson of Charlie Cavanagh of Modreeny who came to NZ in the late 19th century!
Congratulations from your numerous NZ connections.
Nice to hear from you. Send us a message and we can forward it on to her.
Hello,
I am the older sister of Charlie Williams, grand daughter of the late Charlie Cavanagh in NZ. I was very excited when Charlie told me he had found your blog this morning. So far away, yet so close in this modern age. Congratualtions to you both.
Hi just found this site while showing my daughter Samantha where her poppy (John Cavanagh) came from.
Charlie Cavanagh was my father’s uncle.
Congratulations and say hi to your Dad and Dorothy.
P.S. When are you coming to New Zealand?
