It is with regret we report that a 53-year-old male motorcyclist has lost his life, following a collision with a suburban utility vehicle (SUV) this afternoon, on the R438 Borrisokane to Cloghan Road at Annagh Cross in Co. Tipperary.
The accident, which happened around 12.30pm, saw the man treated at the scene by the emergency services, but regrettably he was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the 4×4 thankfully was uninjured.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene, and the stretch of road (R438), between Walsh Park Cross, Co. Tipperary and Taylors Cross, Co. Offaly, remains closed to traffic, with local diversions in place.
