The Annual “Christmas Night Hike” will be held in Upperchurch, Thurles, Co Tipperary, on Sunday evening, Dec. 20th. This event will set out from the Community Centre, situated in the heart of the village, at 6.30pm. (Please note the earlier than usual starting time.)
This year the now ever popular annual walk will be on ‘Knockalough’, where the going should be reasonably dry, despite the recent inclement weather.
There will be the usual Prayers, Readings, Carols and Reflections, with festive fare supplied for inner warmth.
Registration is required prior to this most enjoyable of local seasonal walking events. There will be a charge of €5 for all adults with all accompanying children free of charge.
Note the small registration fee required is to cover the expected costs of providing complimentary tea and sandwiches; latter which will be available to all registered event partakers, in the Community Hall after this ‘Night Hike’ event.
As is usual after the Hike, seasonal festivities will continue later in the local village hostelries, with music, great conversation and no doubt a song or two from those in attendance.
Promises as always to be the highlight of local rural Christmas 2015 events here in Co. Tipperary.
