Gardaí here in Thurles, Co.Tipperary are anxiously appealing for witnesses to a road traffic accident in which a child was knocked down and injured.
The accident is understood to have occurred around 12.10p.m. yesterday (Sunday) on the Slievenamon Road, latter which leads north into the town.
The victim, latter an 8-year-old boy, who is understood to have been cycling at the time, was knocked down by a car and sustained minor injuries.
Following the accident the boy was rushed to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.
