Regular listeners to the radio station Tipp FM should note that the “Down your Way” programme, recorded last night in Thurles at The Monks Licensed Hostility will be broadcast tonight between the hours 7.00pm and 8.00pm. If you miss it tonight you can hear the repeat programme mid-day on Sunday next between 1.00pm and 2.00pm. This weekly specialist programme is recorded each week by popular local radio host Eamon O’Dwyer.
Tonight’s radio programme will as usual get intimate, while discussing the more positive aspects of what’s happening here in Thurles through chatting with individuals and featuring some the Premier Counties outstanding local musical talents.
Of course “The Monks” public house still remains one of Ireland’s original and traditional social meeting places here in Thurles and Tipperary, entertaining “Muintir na haíte.” (Translated from the Irish; “The people of the place”.) Note by 10.00 am, each morning, Radio TippFM has a massive 59% of Tipperary people as their audience or over 83,000 people tuned in to listen to their daily programmes each week. TippFM also broadcast live from Thurles Shopping Centre every Thursday from their Pod stand in the complex, broadcasting a great mix of talk and music, as well as offering plenty of exclusive competitions and great give-aways.
