Gardaí from the Templemore area have successfully recovered machinery worth thousands of euro, recently stolen approximately three miles from Templetouhy, here in North Tipperary.
Gardaí had been appealing to motorists to keep their eyes peeled for a stolen yellow coloured JCB Fast-Track, latter registration number 04-C-1641, together with a three thousand gallon capacity red ‘Abbey’ tanker, which had a compressor attached and both of which had been removed from an area on the Johnstown road outside of Templetouhy village.
Gardaí now confirm that this machinery has been located, found abandoned some distance from where it was stolen.
While Gardaí continue to investigate, they now believe that the robbery may have come about as a result of mischievous pranks, carried out by a number of youths, observed to have been in the area at the time.
