The sun shone brightly today for the wedding of the very lovely Miss Diane Cooper, daughter of Mrs Lily Cooper & the late Mr Jim Cooper to Mr Niall Weldon son of Mrs Bríd and Mr Jimmy Weldon.
Their marriage took place in the beautiful spacious Church of St Michael, in Portarlington, Co Laois, with the ceremony conducted by family friend & former local parish priest Rev. Fr. Tom Byrne.
Escorted down the aisle by her brother James, the bride looked stunningly beautiful in a full length strapless San Patrick designed ivory gown, with rose detailed ruched bodice. Equally beautiful was her accompanying Maid of Honour, Fiona Maloney who wore a strapless chiffon full length burgundy gown with waist rose motif and her bridesmaids Edel & Maria Weldon, both wearing full length navy chiffon Grecian style gowns.
The groom, Niall and his three groom’s men, Mr Tony Weldon (Best Man), Mr Keith Smart & Mr Eoin Lawlor all looked dashing in Silvery Grey Evening Suits, elegantly highlighted by white Oxford Plain shirts with waistcoats and black ties. Also adding to the splendour of this occasion was Flower Girl, Miss Katelyn Maloney together with Pageboy, Master Donal Boyd.
The couple proclaimed their love for each other in front of a large gathering of some 200 family and close friends, with music for the ceremony provided by Portlaoise Gospel Choir. Scripture readings were undertaken by Susan Weldon, & Breda Morton while prayers were read by Mark Weldon, David Nicholls, Debbie Keogh & Andy Barron. Offertory Gifts of Bread & Wine were carried by both mothers of the Bride & Groom, Mrs Lily Cooper & Mrs Bríd Weldon.
Following the marriage ceremony, the new Mr and Mrs Weldon retired to the very popular wedding venue, the 4 Star, Tullamore Court Hotel, Co Offaly, where guests, under the most helpful eye of twice nominated Irish Wedding Co-ordinator, Mr Martin Tempany, were entertained to traditional seasonal hot punch, together with a host of other light refreshments.
Following family photographs the newly married couple joined their guests in the venues main Banqueting Suite for dinner, which was immediately followed by dancing very late into the evening.
The couple have chosen Co Kerry here in Ireland as their favoured honeymoon destination & to Diane & Niall, go all best wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and prosperous life together.
