Signs Of Christmas Appear In Thurles

Like it or like it not Christmas is fast approaching, (Not long, just around Eleven Weeks). In our minds eye dreams of Christmas for each one of us this annual festive season will vary – A blanket beside a fireplace with a good book, maybe for some – Crowds of excited people dancing for others – Snow, though it rarely appears – Giving & sharing, while celebrating the birth of the Son of God or simply enjoying great food and the perfect time of year to do so, while sharing with good company.

Mitchel House Restaurant here in Thurles Co. Tipperary have two menu’s to offer their customers this Christmas season, namely their Early Bird & their Set Dinner menu’s, which they have just made public.

Christmas 2012 Early Bird Menu
Starters
Pan Fried Spring Onion & Potato Boxty Cake, with an Oatmeal Crumb, Dressed Leaves, Chilli Dressing.
Pan Seared Terrine of Chicken & Smoked Bacon Rocket & Scallion Salad, Mustard Dressing, Parmesan Tuille.
Warm Tart of Goats Cheese, Pistacio & Lemon Crust, Beetroot Salad.
Warm Salad of Black Pudding, Served with Crisp Apple & New Potatoes , Grain Mustard Dressing.
Cream of Fresh Country Vegetable Soup with Herb Croutons.

Grilled Prime Sirloin Steak,Warm Parcel of Mushroom Duxelle & Roasted Onions, Green Pepper & Brandy Sauce.
Mitchel House Fish & Chips, Fillet of Cod in a Crisp Batter, with Pea Puree, Home Cut Chips & Tartare Sauce.
Roast Shank of Irish Lamb With Roasted Winter Vegetables, Rosemary & Red Wine Jus.
Sauté Breast of Chicken Kanturk Black Pudding Stuffing,  Roast red Wine Gravy, Winter Greens.
Risotto of Butternut Squash, Roasted Shallots, Leeks & Ginger served with Parmesan Shavings.
