A man has died following a single vehicle road accident in Cahir, Co Tipperary early this afternoon at approximately 3.25pm.
It is understood that the victim’s car left the roadway at Lagganstown Lower, off the New Inn Golden Road, near Cahir, here in Co Tipperary, before colliding with a ditch.
The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is believed to be in his 70’s and the sole occupant of the crashed vehicle.
The road is currently closed and traffic diversions are in place, while investigators examine the accident scene.
