It was with a great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Sunday 20th April 2025, of Mrs Grainne Fanning, (née McCabe) Ardeen Nursing Home, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, and formerly of The Derheen, Thurles and Monaraheen, Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by her husband Jim, sister Myra (Ritchie), brothers Pat and Laurence; Mrs Fanning passed away peacefully following a short illness, most bravely borne, while in the care of staff at Ardeen Nursing Home, Thurles and ICU, University Hospital Clonmel Co. Tipperary.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; sister Anne (Edwards), nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Hannah (Power) and Kathleen (Ryan), brothers-in-law Stephen (Edwards) and Michael (Fanning), extended relatives, the Ardeen Nursing Home community, neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Fanning will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Wednesday afternoon, April 23rd, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, before being received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, at 7:45pm same evening.
Requiem Mass for Mrs Fanning will be celebrated on Thursday morning, April 24th, at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St Patrick’s cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
