It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Friday 28th February 2025 of Mrs Maura Armstrong (née Shanahan), Gurtahoola, Drombane, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Just five days short of her 100th birthday and pre-deceased by her husband Jimmy, infant son Patrick Joseph, parents Denis and Nora, three sisters and five brothers; Mrs Armstrong passed away peacefully at her place of ordinary residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Her passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family; daughters Marian (Heffernan) Celbridge, Co Kildare, Martina (Heffernan), Two-Mile-Borris, Thurles, sons Denis, John, Michael, Seamus and P.J, sons-in-law Donal and Martin, daughters-in-law Eileen, Mary, Noreen, Anne and Michelle, her 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Betty (Australia), nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mrs Armstrong will repose at O’Dwyers Funeral Home, Cappanleigh, Upperchurch, Thurles, (Eircode E41 FN34) on Saturday afternoon, March 1st, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
Her remains will be received into the Church of St Mary, Drombane, Thurles on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 1:00pm, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in Upperchurch Cemetery.
