It was with a very great personal sadness that I learned of the death, today Tuesday 19th November 2024, of Mr John (Johnny) Egan, Kickham Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
In his 96th year and pre-deceased by his brothers Nicky, Philly and Paddy, sisters Nancy (Doyle) and Kathleen (Sheedy); Mr Egan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, while in the wonderful care of staff at the Community Hospital of the Assumption, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
A man who brought great joy to the lives of all those whose path he crossed; the passing of Mr Egan is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; his devoted wife Mary (née Ryan), son Philip, daughter-in-law Mary, beloved grandchildren Kate, Ava and John, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law Tommy (Croke) and John (Ryan), sister-in-law Joan (Ryan, Littleton, Thurles), extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Egan will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Thursday afternoon, November 21st, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, same evening.
His remains will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, on Friday morning, November 22nd, at 10:30am to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards in Our Lady and St Kevin’s cemetery, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
