It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Wednesday 4th September 2024 of Rev. Walter McNamara, (Congregatio Sancti Spiritus (C.S.Sp.), Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Kimmage Manor, Dublin and late of Ballybrophy and Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents, the late Leonore (née Delahunty) and Thomas, sisters Mary Olive (Barry), Joan (Mullins), Anne (Gannon) and Leonore (Sexton), brothers Desmond and John; Rev. McNamara passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and confrères, while in the care of staff at Nazareth House Nursing Home.
A former Missionary in Australia, Ireland, England and Sierra Leone, his passing is most deeply regretted, sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family; brothers Fr William (San Antonio, Texas), Séamus (Smithville, Texas) and Gearóid, sisters-in-law Kathy and Ailís, brother-in-law Séamus (Mullins, Perth, Australia), nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, extended relatives, fellow Spiritans, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Rev. McNamara will repose for Requiem Mass in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Kimmage Manor, Dublin, (D12 WP44) at 11:00am on Tuesday September 10th, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in Dardistown Cemetery, Collinstown Cross, Old Airport Rd, Dardistown, Dublin, (K67 HP26).
