It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, today Thursday 1st February 2024, of Mr Martin Doherty, Hillview Drive, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his parents Larry and Jane, brothers Paddy, Larry, Jack and Billy, sisters Peggy, Mary and infant Kitty; Mr Doherty passed away peacefully, following a long illness most bravely borne, while in the care of Staff of Ardeen Nursing Home, Thurles.
His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family; wife Josie (née Tierney, Blakefield, Gortagarry Toomevara), daughters Mary-D (Ryan) and Geraldine (Hassett), sons Liam, Declan and Adrian, adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Tom and William, daughters-in-law Maria, Martina and Fiona, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law Jane, Bridget, Pam, Chris, Eileen and Breda, brother-in-law Jim, extended relatives, former colleagues in Thurles Sugar Factory and the Cathedral Choir, good neighbours and many friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Doherty will repose at Hugh Ryan’s Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Friday afternoon, February 2nd, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm same evening.
His remains will be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles on Saturday morning, February 3rd, at 10:30am, to further repose for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by interment, immediately afterwards, in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
