It was with great sadness that we learned of the death, yesterday Saturday 23rd December 2023 of Mr Joseph (Joe) Byrne, The Grange, John’s Hill, Waterford City, Co. Waterford; Newrath, Co. Waterford; Tullamaine, Callan, Co. Kilkenny and formerly The Islands, Mullinahone, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Pre-deceased by his wife Mary (née O’Connor), father Liam, sister Marie, brothers Liam Jnr. and Andrew; Mr Byrne, (late of Purcell Exports, Co. Waterford), passed away, while in the care of staff at Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family.
His passing is most deeply regretted and sadly missed by his partner Yvonne, his children Laura, Alastair and Susan, his four grandchildren, mother Mary, brothers Donal, Eddie, Michael and Oliver, his sisters Frances (Wheeler), Lily (Lyng), Bernadette (Murphy), Ena (Collins), nieces, nephews, extended relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements.
The earthly remains of Mr Byrne will repose at Thompsons Funeral Home, No. 19 Barrack Street, Longcourse, Waterford on Friday afternoon, December 29th, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm, with vigil prayers and Rosary at 4:30 pm.
His remains will be received into the Church of the Sacred Heart, The Folly, Grange Lower, Waterford (X91 D981), to further repose for Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 10:00am, followed, immediately afterwards by interment in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
