The Department of Health in the Irish Republic has confirmed a further 5,035 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19, with a further 4,406 positive antigen tests logged through the HSE portal.
The above confirmed figures bring the total number of virus cases in the Irish Republic, in the past 24 hours to 9,441; down 440 on yesterday’s reported figures.
There are 639 people in hospital with the virus, up 8 on yesterday, with the number of people receiving treatment in ICU standing at 58, a decrease of 4 on yesterday’s figure.
In Northern Ireland, a further 3,027 cases of coronavirus were reported today, up from 2,889 on yesterday.
Today there are 443 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals in Northern Ireland, down from 474 patients reported yesterday, and of these, 11 patients are in intensive care units, down 1 on yesterday.
Sadly, 1 further Covid-19-related death has also been reported in Northern Ireland today bringing the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19, since the start of the pandemic, to 3,166.
