Here in the Republic of Ireland, within the past 24 hours, there have been 3,780 PCR-confirmed cases of Covid-19 reported by the Department of Health together with 5,585 people having registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
Both figures bring the total number of confirmed cases, in the Republic of Ireland, to 9,365 today; an increase of 912 cases, based on yesterday’s reported figures.
Overall on the Island of Ireland today, 13,324 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed, up 1,766 on yesterday.
As of 8:00am this morning, there were 646 patients being treated in hospital with the virus, an increase of 3 on the same time yesterday; with 72 of these patients, as of 11:30am, receiving treatment in intensive care units around the country; latter down 4 on yesterday’s reported figure.
In Northern Ireland today, a further 3,959 cases of coronavirus were confirmed today up from 3,105 reported yesterday.
There were 382 patients with Covid-19 in northern Ireland’s hospitals, up from 362 on Monday, with 15 of these patients in hospital intensive care units, up 1 on yesterday.
Sadly, 6 Covid-19-related deaths have been reported in Northern Ireland today, bringing the total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, since the start of the pandemic, to 3,136.
