A child, aged 3 years, has sadly died, following a road traffic accident this afternoon, here in South Co. Tipperary.
We understand the accident happened this afternoon in the Castle Heights housing estate area of Carrick-on-Suir at around 4:30pm.
We further understand that the child, a girl, was playing near her home when she was struck by a bus.
The incident scene has been preserved by Gardaí, pending a full forensic examination; while the incident itself is being treated as a tragedy. The child’s body has since been removed to the mortuary in South Tipperary General Hospital, where a postmortem is due to take place.
