Less than 5 new cases of killer COVID-19 virus confirmed
in Co. Tipperary within last 24 hours.
The Department of Health this evening has confirmed that there has been, sadly, 7 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,737.
There have been 400 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, at 239,723.
Of the cases notified today, 162 cases are in Dublin, 61 in Kildare, 21 in Galway, 17 in both Meath and Donegal, 13 in Wicklow, 12 in Offaly with the remaining 97 cases located across remaining counties.
There have been 2 further coronavirus-related deaths recorded in Northern Ireland within past 24 hours, with 98 new cases of the disease also confirmed
There have been 5,523 virus cases confirmed here in Co. Tipperary, since the pandemic began, same figure relevant up to and including April 6th, 2021. Within the past 24 hours, under 5 new cases have been confirmed within the county, bringing the Tipperary count to 175 within the past 14 days.
There are 226 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 55 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.
The Health Service Chief Executive Mr Paul Reid has confirmed that the number of Covid-19 vaccines has hit the one million. Some 667,182 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered here in Ireland up to April 5th, with 273,701 persons having received their second dose.
The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:00pm this evening, now stands at well over 133.31 million confirmed, with global deaths at well over 2.89 million.
