March comes in like a lion and it hasn’t been tamed yet, with Met Éireann forecasting Nordic conditions for the next 24 hours and a drop in temperatures to as low as 0° to 3° Celsius tonight across Munster.
Tomorrow, temperatures will remain as low as 5° Celsius and aren’t expected to rise above 9° Celsius until late on Sunday. Wintry wind and rain will remain with us throughout this weekend.
The cause of this sudden cold snap is a massive cold weather front from the North Atlantic, which is passing over Ireland and Northern Europe and may even bring isolated thunderstorms and snow and hail showers to parts of the country.
Don’t despair however, drier weather and warmer temperatures are set to return early next week and just in time for the Easter holidays.
