Covid-19 Update: Sun. 7th March 2021 – 3 Deaths – 525 New Cases.

Eighteen (18) new killer Covid-19 cases confirmed in Co. Tipperary.

The Department of Health has confirmed that there has, sadly, been 3 further deaths caused by the Covid-19 pandemic; leaving the overall death toll, here in the Republic of Ireland, remaining at 4,422.

There have been 525 new additional virus cases reported here within the Irish Republic. This leaves the current total number of confirmed cases, since conception, here in the Irish Republic, at 223,219.

Of the cases today; 214 are in Dublin, 37 in Meath, 28 each in Offaly and Limerick, 25 in Wicklow, with the remaining 193 cases located across 19 other counties.

Relevant to midnight yesterday, March 6th, there were 18 new killer virus cases confirmed in Tipperary in the 24 hours to midnight last night, with 227 new cases within the past 14 days. There have been 5,014 cases in Tipperary relevant up to midnight on Wednesday, March 5th last.

Head of the Health Service Executive Mr Paul Reid has stated that vaccinations of people considered high risk, because of serious illness will start in the middle of the coming week.

There are 423 people with Covid-19 in hospital today, and of that number, 103 are in ICU’s, according to Ireland’s COVID-19 Data Hub.

Some 346,256 first doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered by the Health Service Executive (HSE) here in Ireland up to March 4th, with 147,617 persons having received their second dose.

The total worldwide number of virus cases identified up to 5:30pm this evening, now stands at well over 116.6 million confirmed, with global deaths at almost 2.59 million.
