Tipperary Gardaí have arrested a man and seized suspected drugs and cash to the value of over €1 million, in Thurles, Co. Tipperary, late yesterday. This arrest and seizure formed part of an ongoing operation that has been successfully targeting the sale and supply of drugs throughout Co. Tipperary.
Shortly after 10:00pm last night, Gardaí from the Tipperary District supported by uniform and armed Gardaí from the Southern Region, carried out a search of a field in the Kilcommon area near Thurles.
During the course of this intelligence led search, Gardaí seized €647,500 of suspected cocaine and approximately €370,000 in cash.
A man, understood to be aged in his late 40’s, was arrested and currently remains detained at Templemore Garda station under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
