Gardaí are investigating the loss of life of a man believed to be in his 20’s, following a number of altercations, first in Co. Tipperary and later in Co. Kilkenny on Sunday last, (July 26th).
It’s understood the young man, a Thurles native, was injured in an incident in Killenaule, Co. Tipperary, on Sunday, before being brought to hospital by ambulance.
He was later found on the motorway in Urlingford Co. Kilkenny. Gardaí state that they brought the man to a house in the Chapelfield estate area in Urlingford, for his personal safety.
Following a further disturbance at this house in Urlingford, he was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Co. Kilkenny, where sadly he died from injuries.
We understand that a forensic examination has since been carried out at a house in the Chapelfield estate, while door to door enquiries have also taken place in this area.
Gardaí state that the matter remains under investigation.
