New virus cases confirmed here in the Premier County; (as at midnight on Saturday, May 9th last), have again risen from 517 to 523; showing an increase of a further 6 new cases now having been verified over a 24-hour period.
The Department of Health has confirmed this afternoon that a further 15 people have tragically died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland over the past 24 hours. These latest figures bring the total death toll, from this pandemic, to 1,467.
A total of 139 new cases of the coronavirus have also, today, have been identified, bringing the total since conception to 23,135.
Research carried out by the Department of Health has found that a significant number of people (some 43%) foolishly believe the worst of this pandemic here in Ireland is over. Same health officials believe this mistaken belief, leaves a cause for great concern nationally.
