Covid-19 Update: Monday 20th April 2020 – 77 Deaths – 401 New Cases

The Department of Health has confirmed that a further 77 people have died from the Covid-19 virus, here in the Republic of Ireland. This confirmation brings the overall total number of deaths to-date, to 687.

Today’s 77 deaths reported confirm that 4 were in the west of the country; a further 4 were in the north-west; while 2 were in the south and 67 in the east.

Regarding hospitals serving Co. Tipperary; statistics from yesterday show 7 patients are in receipt of critical care in University Hospital Limerick, and 2 similar cases exist in Clonmel General Hospital.

Here in Co. Tipperary the number of new virus cases reported, up until midnight, as at the 18th April 2020, have been confirmed at 300, since conception; an increase of 8 new confirmed cases.

A total of 401 identified new cases of the coronavirus have also today been diagnosed here in the Republic. Bringing the total since conception to 15,652.
