A pensioner out walking on the N24 Limerick to Waterford road, at Glenconnor Upper, outside Clonmellon, Co. Tipperary, remains fighting for his life following a collision with a cyclist.
We understand the male pedestrian; latter aged in his mid-70’s and a local resident of the area, suffered serious injuries yesterday evening, January 6th, at around 6.35pm.
We understand the victim was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital suffering from serious head injuries.
Garda forensic collision investigators have since carried out a technical examination at the scene, however the true circumstances of the accident remain unclear.
Clonmel Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to Monday evening’s collision, and would like to converse with any passing road users who may have dash-cam footage.

The elderly male pedestrian (named as Mr Thomas O’Brien) who received seriously head injuries following a collision with a cyclist on the eve of January 6th, 2020, has sadly passed away.
The Clonmel resident, aged in his mid-70’s; who was out walking at Glenconnor Upper, Clonmel on Monday evening, died at South Tipperary General Hospital yesterday.
