While the weather remained somewhat overcast here in Thurles, Co. Tipperary for this popular event, held at the Mary Immaculate College (Formerly St. Patrick’s College), Cathedral Street, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, not so was the mood of visitors and local residents; latter who turned out in vast numbers in support of this much anticipated occasion.
The successful family day, which was also supported by various stage performances, together with over 40 food and craft fare exhibitors, ran from 12:00 noon until 5:00pm, to the acclaim of all who attended.
Lovely photographs and well done. Should you have more on the show you might share with us.
George. I am in shock. I had a resident contact me regarding the Lions Club here on the Gold Coast. Some Lions Club were putting on a function to do with Golf. But it stated one had to be between 19 and 65 to attend this function. I will look into this further. I have never heard of this before. But then this is Australia. Nothing surprises me. I wondered if the Lions Club in Thurles has these out-dated rules. Some how I doubt it. It seems here in Australia once one turns 55 you don’t exist. The retirement age is now 67 even though at that age there is no way one can get employment. People have to apply for what is called,‘New Start’. It is so humiliating for those seniors who have worked all there lives and put out of work just because of age. George some days my phone never stops ringing. Some things just keep changing daily.
