A 59 year old man has died following a traffic accident in Co. Tipperary. This latest fatality will bring to six in total; the number persons who have lost their lives on Tipperary roads so far this year.
The head-on collision between two cars happened in an area known as Reddan’s Walk, on the R661 between Dundrum village and Tipperary town, shortly after midday.
The dead man, a driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, latter a male understood to be in his 50’s, and a 5-year-old boy travelling in the other car, were both taken to University Hospital Limerick, where their injuries thankfully have been assessed as not life threatening.
